Replacement of existing switchboards with new ones. Enclosures must be metal, have a degree of protection of at least IP31, provide easy access for maintenance and capacity of components (circuit breakers).
- Cable routes: Replacement of existing lines with copper cable with a cross-section based on the planned load and the recommendations of the PDU manufacturer. Installation should be carried out in existing or new cable trays in compliance with the Electrical Installation Code.
- Circuit breakers: Installation of new 3-phase
circuit breakers with the appropriate tripping characteristic (type C or D, depending on the starting currents of the equipment).
2.2. Endpoints and PDUs
- Connectors: Replacement of termination sockets with industrial 3-phase connectors (female, bulbous) for connecting rack equipment.
- Power Distribution Units (PDUs):
- Supply and install smart PDUs in each rack (6 cabinets) on two arms (2 PDUs per cabinet, 12pcs).
- PDU requirements: Installation of 3P 11 kW (3 phase) power distribution units with at least 24xC13+6xC19 sockets
- Requirements: Support remote control, monitoring current, voltage and input power
- Integration: Seamless integration with existing data center monitoring system via SNMP or Modbus, TCP, Zabbix.
3. Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Upgrade
· Modernization of the uninterruptible power supply system in accordance with the planned load of the data center and the requirements of reliability of compliance with the TIER III level.
· Planned IT load: 6 server cabinets of 11 kW each and power distribution on two arms (2 PDUs per cabinet).
· Revision and audit of existing UPSs: Before deploying the target architecture, it is necessary to conduct a comprehensive examination of the existing UPS fleet with the following tasks:
· Assessment of the technical condition and wear of current equipment
· Instrumental inspection of power boards, DC capacitors and cooling fans to determine the degree of their degradation.
· Anomaly Analysis: Intermittent unauthorized UPS transitions to Bypass mode at a random point in time have been recorded.
· Determination of the expediency of further use: Based on the results of the defect detection, draw up a technical conclusion on the suitability and expediency of further use and maintenance.
3.1. "Backup Uninterrupted Power Supply (DGS)"
3.2. Diesel generator set (DGS). To ensure continuous operation of the data center in the event of a complete or partial failure of external power supply, the supply, installation and integration of an additional diesel generator is required.
- Reliability class and mode of operation:
- The rated power of the diesel generator should be calculated in the Prime Power (PRP) mode with the ability to continuously operate at the maximum design capacity of the data center (IT load + precision air conditioning + internal needs) for an unlimited time.
- The engine of the plant must comply with the G3 class design (according to ISO 8528-5) to ensure a minimum deviation in frequency and voltage at a stepped surge of 100% of the IT load.
- Redundancy scheme and automation:
- Integration of the diesel generator into the overall power distribution scheme should support the principle of parallel servicing of system elements without stopping services.
- The control panel of the diesel generator set must be equipped with an automatic transfer switch (ATS) controller with the ability to automatically start, synchronize (if necessary) and enter the operating mode of load acceptance in a time not exceeding 15 seconds from the moment of loss of city power supply.
- Fuel system and autonomy:
- The fuel supply system must ensure continuous operation of the diesel generator at full load for at least 12-24 hours without refueling.
- The fuel line, pumps and cleaning filters must have redundant circuits to be able to maintain/replace them on an operating generator.
- Structural design and life support:
- The diesel generator set should be supplied in a rigid all-weather noise protection container (casing) of external design, providing protection from external climatic influences in the conditions of Tashkent (temperature range from -25 °C to +50 °C).
- The container must be equipped with an automatic heating system for the engine cooling jacket (for a guaranteed "hot" start in winter), a supply and exhaust ventilation system with automatic blinds and an internal lighting system.
- Fire safety and ecology:
- The diesel generator set must be equipped with an autonomous automatic fire alarm system and gas/powder fire extinguishing system, integrated with the bank's general security system.
- The exhaust system should be equipped with an industrial-type muffler to minimize noise pollution.
- Monitoring and dispatching:
- The genset controller should support full transfer of all operating parameters to a centralized data center monitoring system via Modbus TCP or SNMP protocol, integration and sending of metrics to Zabbix.
- Modernization of the existing diesel generator (retrofitting and installation of a monitoring and control board is required)
- Critical parameters for monitoring:
Operating status (Mains/Generator/Alarm), fuel level in the tank (in percentage and/or liters), coolant temperature, starter battery voltage, instantaneous load (kW), oil pressure.
· Installation and preparation of the location:
o Depending on the location, if necessary, prepare the site by pouring it with a concrete mixture, having previously strengthened it with reinforcement. The location must be agreed with the customer.
4. Precision Air Conditioning System
To ensure redundancy and increase the cooling capacity, it is necessary to analyze the existing air conditioning systems, if necessary, to equip the machine room with an additional installation of a precision air conditioner.
- Type of equipment: Precision air conditioner with air blowing under the raised floor (Downflow).
- Functionality: Maintains a temperature of 15 °C to 27 °C and 50% humidity.
- Monitoring: Setting up the transfer of all critical parameters (temperature, leaks, compressor operation) to a centralized monitoring system.
5. Cooling Optimization (Cold Aisle)
The goal is to eliminate the mixing of hot and cold air.
5.1. Structure of the "Cold Corridor"
· Construction of glass sliding doors
- Installation of an insulating structure (roof, end doors) over the passage between the rows of posts.
- Doors should be made of glass or have transparent inserts and closers to ensure tightness.
5.2. Insulation inside racks
- Blanking Panels: Install plastic or metal blanks in all available Unit spaces in server racks.
- Purpose: Prevents hot air from recirculating from the hot aisle back to the cold aisle through empty rack spaces.
6. Monitoring system: Integration of engineering systems into the existing monitoring system, retrofitting and modernization of the necessary units and blocks of the monitoring system.
7. Implementation requirements
· Work without stopping or partially stopping services: Modernization should be carried out in stages, ensuring continuous operation of IT equipment (switching to backup lines), if it is impossible to switch without stopping or shutting down the equipment, schedule work by prior agreement with the customer, carrying out during non-working (night) hours.
- Marking: All cables, circuit breakers and sockets must have clear and understandable markings according to the executive scheme.
- Commissioning (commissioning): Conducting comprehensive tests of the system under load and checking the correctness of the data display in the monitoring system.
- Warranty obligations: Provision of a comprehensive guarantee for the completed construction and installation works for a period of at least 24 months, as well as readiness to ensure a prompt response of the emergency team during critical switching at the facility.
- During the work, there should be no garbage in the premises, after each stage of work, the contractor must clean up after himself, large or construction waste is removed by the contractor himself.
8. List of documentation based on the results of work
- As-built power supply diagrams.
- Test and measurement reports (insulation resistance).
- Air conditioning and PDU instruction manuals.
- Register (address) map for integration into the monitoring system.
- Passport, certificates of conformity and operating instructions for diesel generators.
