Certain Payments to Be Made Exclusively in Cashless Form Starting from April 1, 2026

In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. UP-246 dated December 10, 2025, as well as pursuant to the instruction of the Central Bank dated February 23, 2026, certain types of payments will be carried out exclusively in cashless form starting from April 1, 2026.

This measure is aimed at enhancing transparency of settlements, strengthening security, and developing modern payment infrastructure.

Which Payments Will Be Cashless?

From April 1, 2026, the following payments will be accepted only via bank cards or electronic payment systems:

• payments for government services;

• payments for electricity, natural gas, and drinking water (except payments made through bank cash desks);

• purchases of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products;

• sales of petroleum and gas products to the public at fuel stations, as well as electric vehicle charging services;

• payments for goods and services exceeding UZS 25 million (except agricultural products);

• purchase and sale of real estate;

• purchase and sale of vehicles of categories M, N, O, and G, produced not more than 10 years ago, as well as specialized vehicles.

How Will Settlements Be Carried Out?

Settlements under purchase and sale agreements for real estate and vehicles will be conducted through electronic data exchange between the information systems of banks and notarial authorities.

During нотариальное оформление of transactions, confirmation of payment will be based on electronic data provided by commercial banks and payment organizations.
